Morgan County Sheriff’s Foundation, Inc. is a bipartisan, charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting law enforcement and enhancing the quality of life for all who live in and visit Morgan County, Georgia. Our mission is to raise and provide supplemental funding beyond the county’s standard allocations to strengthen public safety, support local law enforcement initiatives, and contribute to a thriving community. Through collaboration and community engagement, we strive to keep Morgan County a safe, welcoming, and vibrant place to live, work and play.

Here’s How – Choose from Two Options:

OPTION ONE:

Tax Deductible Contribution

Make a tax deductible charitable cash contribution to Morgan County Sheriff’s Foundation which is a qualified 501(c)3 organization. These contributions can support Morgan County sheriff’s office, fire rescue or other public safety departments. Please see below for more information on electronic or check contributions.

Georgia State Tax Credit Available

New Georgia legislation, known as the LESS Crime Act (click to read more), allows Georgia taxpayers to claim a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for supporting local law enforcement efforts by contributing to qualified law enforcement foundations, such as the Morgan County Sheriff’s Foundation.

  • As a Georgia business or individual taxpayer, you make a contribution to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Foundation.
  • In turn, you receive a tax credit to offset your Georgia income tax liability.
  • You, as the taxpayer, are directing your tax dollars to your local community.

5 Easy Steps to Contribute to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Foundation And Receive Your Dollar‑for-Dollar Tax Credit

1. REGISTER

Create your account on the Georgia Tax Center website. https://gtc.dor.ga.gov/ Register online for pre-approval.

2. APPROVAL

Within 30 days, Georgia Dept. of Revenue will send you a letter approving your registration.

3. PAYMENT

Make your payment to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Foundation within 60 days of receipt of your letter.

4. FORM

When payment is received, Morgan County Sheriff’s Foundation will send you form IT-QLED-LEF1.

5. TAX CREDIT

Beginning January 2026, taxpayers will submit form IT-QLED-TP2 with their 2025 tax filings to receive their credit.

2025 Tax Credit Limits for donations to Qualified Law Enforcement Foundations:

  • Single Individual or Head of Household: Up to $5,000
  • Married Filing Jointly: Up to $10,000
  • Limited Liability Company (LLC), or Shareholder of a Subchapter (S) Corporation, or Partner in a Partnership: Up to $10,000
  • Large corporations: Up to 75% of their state income tax
